Meals and Maintaining Weight

One common concern about liquid diets is weight loss. According to my oral surgeon, patients that recovery from jaw surgery can expect to lose 10% of their body weight, but anything more than that should be avoided. If you’re thinking about going on a diet, don’t. Now is not the time. It might be tempting, but all the suffering you went through from jaw surgery will be for nothing if you don’t recover well. As the patient, you are responsible for your recovery. You need to nourish your body and feed yourself with the proper nutrients so that your bones can grow back strong.
