A passion for health

If you ask my friends, I’m the “dad” of the friend group. But if you were to ask me, I’d say it’s more of a toss-up between a “dad” and “grandma” figure. I have a love for dad jokes, sarcasm, nature, adventures, and snacking… but I also love tea, sweaters, candles, rainy days, music from the 50s and 60s, cooking for friends and family, sleeping/napping, and providing advice.

Hi, I’m Meghan Lim and for the most part, I’m just your average teen. To the dismay of my parents, I spend too much time on social media. I’m 18 years old, a rising senior, and a native Californian currently in the great state of Texas. Perhaps it’s because I’ve moved 7 times, but I can’t sit still for long before getting restless. Moving so much has blessed me with opportunities to experience a diverse range of travels, food, and culture. I’m proudly half Vietnamese and half Chinese, but unfortunately monolingual (I chose to learn Latin.) I’m the eldest of four in my family, and fun fact, from ages 6-18 we all play piano. In terms of exercise I like to dabble in running, tennis, and volleyball, but my most consistent form of “exercise” are daily walks with my dog Taro. Also, I’m passionate about food and an optimist at heart.

Anyway, enough frivolous details. I created this website because I wanted to document and share my jaw surgery recovery. Reading other jaw surgery blogs were a great comfort before and after jaw surgery to understand what I was really in for, gain tips and advice from, and know that I was not alone. Certain mental tenacity and grit is necessary to survive recovery, but with a positive mindset and a good humor, the six weeks won’t feel impossible to get through. Everyone’s recovery process is unique, but I aim to inspire, help, and support readers through their jaw surgery journey. There’s so much more I have to say, but that’s the gist! Stick around for more, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
